Star Philadelphia 76ers forward Jaylen Brown spoke about his trade to that team from the Boston Celtics in a recent appearance on the "Jimmy Kimmel Show". It did not take very long for the conversation to turn to the trade by Boston President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens that sent Brown to the Sixers.
And when asked if he thought his former team was intelligent when making the trade, the Georgia native replied that he was "a little disappointed in how it all went down," and that, as far as the wisdom of the move goes, "I guess we'll find out."
Quite a diplomatic reply from Brown, who has appeared to be understandably conflicted about the move, likely separating the business aspect of the league from the ties he still has with the city. And given the reaction from some fans on hearing the news of his move to Philly by the Celtics front office, it is not hard to grasp why.
One young fan in particular, Giovanni Jean, who was in a viral clip for his despair at the ix-year-old seeing his favorite Celtic traded came up to that end. "I've been to Gio's elementary school a few times," said Brown. "And he's truly a star. He just stands out."
"So intelligent, so kind, so personable. So when the video came out ... my family sent his family a message: 'Don't worry about it, don't cry, it's going to be all right, we're going to always be friends, and I'm going to always stay checked up on you' – he's doing better now."
