JELLICO, Tenn. (WATE) — Jellico football has a chance this season to do something the program has never done before, which is to win a playoff game. The Blue Devils might just have the pieces to do it.
Jellico graduated only four players, they return a majority of their roster and they’re senior heavy. They have a recipe for some history, and these guys know it.
“With the kids seeing how close we were and they really worked, this was one of the best offseason that we’ve had since we’ve been there,” said Jellico head coach Brent Peel.
“Seeing the way things went last year and we know it could’ve been a whole lot better and I think we’re just really playing to show who we are right now,” said senior Jace Rowe. “The way that we can play with our speed, physicality, I don’t think a lot of people will be expecting that.”

When the Blue Devils open their season against Lynn Camp on Friday, August 21, they’ll have quarterback Owen Morgan back as their starter. Morgan returns after suffering a season ending injury in week one last fall.
