John Harbaugh: We're looking toward ramping Malik Nabers up next week

Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is nearing the next step in his return from last season's torn ACL.

Nabers has been practicing regularly at training camp, but hasn't done any team drills so far this summer. On Wednesday, head coach John Harbaugh said that a move to full practice participation could come after the team's preseason opener this weekend.

"Yeah, he's kind of exactly where he's been," Harbaugh said, via a transcript from the team. "And we're looking towards soon ramping him up into some group periods and perhaps some team periods. Maybe next week, we'll see. He's doing great. He's working hard. Spirits are high. And yeah, we'll see where we're at next week."

A smooth transition to team work would leave Nabers with little left to check off on his comeback to-do list other than play in a game. That's unlikely to happen until Week 1 against the Cowboys, but having him on the field for that game would make for a happy end to his long rehab process.
