Charlton Athletic defender Lloyd Jones has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

The 30-year-old, who has won their player of the season award for the past two seasons, had made 123 appearances since joining the club in 2023.

Last campaign he played in all 46 Championship games, scoring one goal and registering three assists.

Jones started his career at Liverpool before going on to play for the likes of Cambridge United, Northampton and Swindon Town.

"He's [Jones] been a pillar in our success, both in the promotion year and last year," manager Nathan Jones said.

"His consistency has been excellent and he's been one of the best defenders in the division, so we're delighted to extend our time working with him."
