The Green Bay Packers have been monitoring Josh Jacobs’ legal situation since his arrest in May, while also preparing for the possibility of an NFL suspension. That situation has now taken a different turn, with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reporting on social media that Jacobs is facing reduced charges stemming from the incident.
“The Brown County District Attorney has formally charged Packers RB Josh Jacobs with two misdemeanors related to his May arrest,” the NFL insider wrote on his post on X (formerly Twitter).

Jacobs has established himself as a key piece of the Packers’ backfield since arriving in Green Bay. The seven year veteran joined the team in 2024 after leaving the Raiders and immediately made an impact, rushing for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns in his first season. He followed that up with another productive campaign in 2025, finishing with 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

The 28-year-old has not faced any immediate football related restrictions following his arrest and has continued to work with the Packers. The situation could still bring consequences from the NFL, which has the authority to discipline players under its Personal Conduct Policy.
Green Bay is not waiting to find out, though, as Brian Gutekunst said the organization has already prepared for the possibility that Jacobs could miss time because of league discipline.
“We’ve obviously been preparing for that in case that happens. But at the same time, I feel really good about the guys we have in that room,” the Packers GM remarked.
