NORTHEAST KANSAS (KSNT) — This week’s episode of K-Nation focuses on continued fall camps for both K-State and Kansas, season-opening soccer matches, volleyball media days and more.

• K-State football head coach Collin Klein talks about the mission to find the ‘Cats QB2 ahead of the season
• Transfers Wendell Gregory and Josh Manning both feel that K-State was the right fit for them
• Kansas football practiced in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Friday, where both newcomers and returners were able to adjust to the offseason renovations made earlier this year
• Trey Lathan was one of just 51 players named to the Butkus Award Preseason watch list
• Former Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels went 10-of-15 for 111 total yards in Saturday’s NFL preseason win for the Bucs over the Jets, 24-16
• Kansas soccer head coach Nate Lie talked opening up the 2026-27 athletic season for the Jayhawks
• The Jayhawks opened up the season with a 2-0 win over Utah State on Wednesday, followed by a 7-0 over Missouri State on Sunday
• K-State soccer picked up a 4-0 win against Seattle U on Thursday, followed by a 3-1 victory over Hawaii on Saturday
• At media days, the Jayhawks shared that head coach Matt Ulmer wants his team to play faster in the 2026 season
• The Kansas volleyball alumni match was held on Saturday, where former ‘Hawks like Ryan White, Camryn Turner, Caroline Bien, Toyosi Onabongo and Ainise Havili played against the current roster at Horejsi Arena
• At media days, K-State volleyball head coach Jason Mansfield talked about his young roster that is hungry to compete for conference titles and make deep postseason runs
• KU volleyball legends Cassie (Wait) Valentine and Ray Bechard were both inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday
• Top 20 recruit from the class of 2027 Javon Bardwell reclassified to start his college career this season, while decommitting from the University of Kansas
• Former Kansas women’s basketball head coach and 1996 U.S. women’s Olympic assistant Marian Washington will be inducted into the Naismith College Basketball Hall of Fame
• K-State women’s hoops added another international player to it’s squad in Italy’s Cristina Osazuwa
• The Bat’Cats’ Ty Smolinski was named the Cape Cod League MVP for his efforts on the diamond
