Good morning, BBN!
Mark Mitchell’s recruitment has been quite a journey.
After wrapping up his fourth college season at Missouri, Mitchell initially turned his attention toward the professional ranks, joining the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Summer League.
However, the possibility of another college season emerged amid ongoing challenges to the NCAA’s eligibility rules.
That possibility became reality Friday when a Jefferson County judge granted Mitchell and other players temporary injunctive relief, allowing them an additional season of eligibility and the opportunity to enter the transfer portal.
Mitchell subsequently entered the portal with a “do-not-contact” designation, adding even more intrigue to Kentucky’s pursuit.
The 6-foot-9 forward would be a massive late addition for Mark Pope. Mitchell averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists last season while shooting 54.7% from the field and 38.8% from three.
His combination of size, scoring, and experience would give Kentucky another proven SEC weapon capable of making an immediate impact.
Do you think the Cats land him? Furthermore, will his eligibility stand if they do?

I don’t necessarily disagree, but at the same time, if it would help you win a championship, do it.
This will be fun to see who gets the opportunity.
