The Atlanta Falcons kicked off the preseason with an ugly loss to the Denver Broncos on Friday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It wasn't a pretty debut for Kevin Stefanski's team, despite playing the first-team units on offense and defense (with the exception of a few key starters).
Atlanta trailed by 24 points and halftime and didn't fare much better in the second half, losing 27-7. Stefanski met with the media following Friday's game and didn't sound overly pleased with his team's debut.
"Not good enough across the board," summed up Stefanski. "We'll get back to work."
Tua Tagovailoa completed three out of five pass attempts for 22 yards in his Falcons debut. It wasn't overly impressive, but the entire first-team offense struggled. Tagovailoa only played two drives and attempted five passes. All three of his completions went to tight end Kyle Pitts.
When asked about Tagovailoa's debut, Stefanski said he didn't feel he saw enough to give a fair assessment.
"It's hard to give a grade on Tua's sample size," Stefanski added.
