Kilgore falls to Pleasant Grove in season opener

TEXARKANA, Texas (KETK)--The Pleasant Grove Hawks kicked off the regular season on Friday night with a big win over the Kilgore Bulldogs.

Final Score: Pleasant Grove 42- Kilgore 7

The Bulldogs are coming off a dominant 2025 season, finishing 14-2 overall and reaching the 4A State Championship Game before losing to the Stephenville Yellowjackets.

Following Friday's loss, the Bulldogs will enter a bye week before heading to Gilmer to face the Buckyes on Sept. 11.

Meanwhile, the Hawks will look to pick up their second win of the year as they prepare to face the Sulphur Springs Wildcats on the road next week.
