The Georgia Bulldogs will enter the 2026 season with a plethora of talent on both sides of the football. The Dawgs are ranked as the No. 3 in the nation according to the US LBM Coaches Poll, and Georgia finds themselves among the early favorites to win the national championship.
The Bulldogs’ offense will feature a handful of key returning starters from last season's unit. Star quarterback Gunner Stockton enters his second season as the Dawgs’ starter, and Stockton will have a handful of talented weapons at his disposal despite numerous key departures at both wide receiver and tight end. Georgia center Drew Bobo is back and the veteran will once again play a critical role on the Dawgs’ offensive line.
Bobo suffered a minor setback during the early stages of fall camp, as the center suffered a hand injury during the first scrimmage of camp last weekend. The center has spent the majority of the offseason recovering from a foot injury suffered late in 2025 that forced him to miss Georgia's College Football Playoff game against Ole Miss. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart recently shared an update on Bobo’s status, as the center appears to be perfectly fine following the slight scare.
"He practiced yesterday all day and took every rep,” Smart said. “He did great."
Bobo is widely regarded as one of the top centers in the nation entering 2026. The big man solidified himself among college football’s top offensive linemen with his elite season in Athens last year. Smart’s update in regard to Bobo’s hand injury is excellent news, and the center appears to have bounced back almost instantly following last weekend’s scrimmage. Bobo is a preseason All-America selection and a first-team All-SEC pick.
A handful of Georgia’s defensive talent have suffered significant injuries this offseason. Transfer defensive lineman Amaris Williams suffered a season-ending ACL injury during spring practice. Linebacker Gabe Harris Jr. continues to ramp up his workload after being diagnosed with a severe toe turf injury during the SEC championship against Alabama. Harris missed the spring and the playoff game.
