Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel enjoyed plenty of individual success during his rookie campaign, finishing second in Rookie of the Year Award voting and leading the league in 3-pointers made. Knueppel also was involved in All-Star weekend festivities, participating in the 3-point contest and the league's Rising Stars game.
However, Knueppel has made it clear that as a team, the Hornets fell just short of their goal last season. "Our goal is to make the playoffs, and we fell short of that. (We) got to come back with a different fire and just use it as fuel. That's going to be our goal again. We want to get there. We want to play significant games at the end of the season."
Despite the heroics from Coby White, which helped propel Charlotte to a Play-In Tournament victory over the Miami Heat, the Hornets were blown out in their final Play-In matchup against the Orlando Magic, ending the season one game short of the playoffs.
Although key contributors like LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges have found new destinations, Charlotte's youthful roster is optimistic for a better finish during the 2026-27 NBA season.
