The Japanese forward left the Hoops with a formidable record, having established himself as a fans’ favourite through his goals against Rangers, Hampden heroics and habit of delivering in Celtic’s biggest moments.
For many supporters, Kyogo is the best striker to have worn the Hoops since Larsson left the club in 2004.
Now, following his move to LA Galaxy, the former Celtic favourite has been asked directly about that comparison.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Kyogo said: “That’s a huge honour. From my perspective, I just want to keep scoring goals and be a player that people want to come and see and watch.
“But in answer to the question, I consider that a very high honour.”
Current Hoops boss Martin O’Neill is better placed than most to judge, having managed Larsson during some of the Swede’s greatest years at Celtic.
O’Neill previously offered Kyogo the ultimate compliment by describing him as being “as good as anyone since Henrik”.
