After signing a lot of players earlier in the summer, Chelsea are into sales season, and top of their list now that Trevoh Chalobah has left is Benoit Badiashile.
The French defender was left out of the preseason tour to help him find a move – and while that’s not yet happened, it is starting to feel like something is close. We’ve heard for days about Napoli interest in the defender, and we’re now starting to get more information.

Sky Sports today report that the Italian side are looking to finalise a deal for the former Monaco man on loan with a €3m fee. They would then have the option to make that deal permanent for €20m.
Chelsea want more money for the option – closer to €25m. Common ground will eventually be found, but until then this deal continues to drag on. A lack of serious interest from other parties is stopping Chelsea from being more demanding.
This one is crawling to the finish line – but we do think it will get there eventually. The sums being argued are small enough at this point.
In other news…Enzo Fernandez’s potential move to Man City has reached crunch time. It’s now or never for the Argentine after Chelsea set a hard deadline.
Landon Emenalo is a player gaining more and more attention in the game because of his exceptional talent. He’s lining up a first senior loan move.
