The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Roki Sasaki on the Injured List with a blister in his right hand after he had to be prematurely removed from their contest with the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday evening.
LA formally announced the roster moves before its series finale with the Braves. The Dodgers are looking to avoid being swept, and it will be tough with Chris Sale on the mound for Atlanta (at home) on Thursday evening.
It has already been announced that Eric Lauer will take Sasaki’s spot in the rotation, but the Dodgers are also recalling flamethrower Seth Halvorsen before the Braves series finale.

The Dodgers traded for Seth Halvorsen at the end of July, and with the Roki Sasaki injury, he is being recalled to the team’s bullpen for a 2nd time this season.
LA’s X account wrote (before the Braves game):Â
“The Dodgers recalled RHP Seth Halvorsen and placed RHP Roki Sasaki on the injured list with a blister on his right middle finger.”

Halvorsen, 26, has pitched just 1.0 innings with the Dodgers thus far, but it was a scoreless frame. There’s a good chance he will appear in the Dodgers’ contest with the Braves on Thursday because LA’s bullpen has been expended over the past two days.
