LSU soccer players enter match in light of judge’s eligibility order against NCAA rules

LSU soccer players Jazmin Ferguson and Jocelyn Ollivierre, who are named in an eligibility lawsuit against the NCAA, entered a match on Sunday. They are both named in the lawsuit in which the NCAA and SEC are named defendants.

Ferguson and Olliviere are among the plaintiffs in a Louisiana lawsuit that granted a group of athletes an additional year of eligibility. They were part of the 2022 recruiting class, which is at the center of multiple suits against the NCAA’s age-based, five-year eligibility model.

Both players entered the match in the 21st minute on Sunday. In July, Tampa Bay Sun FC of the USL Super League announced Ferguson as part of its roster. LouisianaSports.net’s Matt Moscona first noted the two players went into the match against Arizona.

The SEC previously announced new rules in place for athletes attempting to return from the NFL, NBA and WNBA, but has said it plans to comply with the judge’s order.
