Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has late this week spoken publicly on the future of midfield star and Barcelona transfer target Rodri.
This of course comes with the respective boards at The Etihad and The Spotify Camp Nou locked in negotiations over a deal for the former Ballon d’Or winner.
Rodri has already agreed to the terms of a contract with Barcelona, after rejecting arch rivals Real Madrid in favour of linking up with Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana for the seasons ahead.
Ahead of the expiration of the midfield maestro’s deal in Manchester in the summer of 2027, Deco and co. are in turn working to reduce their transfer outlay as much as possible, whilst simultaneously satisfying the demands of their Man City counterparts.
Though no breakthrough has been found as of yet, the widespread expectation is that, when all is said and done, Barcelona will land their man.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Friday, Sky Blues headmaster Enzo Maresca was therefore drawn on the name of his engine room standout. And the Italian tactician went on to explain:
“The transfer window is open… we can buy players, we can sell, anything can happen. I’ve just seen Rodri. I gave him a big hug. He looks good. We’ll see what happens!”
