Blake Rambusch retired from baseball on Tuesday, Aug. 18, according to his official transactions page. The 25-year-old third baseman was a 15th-round draft pick by the Mariners in 2022 out of Auburn University.
In parts of five professional seasons, Rambusch reached as high as the Triple-A level. In 22 games for the Tacoma Rainiers, the Mariners’ top farm team, Rambusch hit .284 with one home run and seven RBIs in 2026.
After less than a month in Tacoma, the Mariners assigned Rambusch to Double-A Arkansas on July 7. In his last game for the Travelers on Saturday, Aug. 15, Rambusch went 1 for 4 with a single.

Listed at 5-foot-9, Rambusch overachieved for his stature throughout his tenure in college and the pros.
Just before he was drafted, Rambusch went 2-for-5 with two runs and a RBI in Auburn’s only win at the 2022 College World Series, against Stanford on June 20, 2022. His 87 hits that season were the most by an Auburn player since 2017, and tied for the second-most since 2010.
Although he never suited up for the Mariners in the regular season, Rambusch saw action in a handful of spring training games over the years. He was a non-roster invitee to Seattle’s major league camp in February 2026.
In 12 Cactus League games, Rambusch went 1-for-16 with two RBIs, two walks, and six strikeouts. He was 2-for-25 (.080) in 20 Cactus League games from 2023-26.
