Martina Navratilova strongly reacted to an alleged incident that has further stirred the transgender athletes in women’s sports row. The Czech-American’s reaction came after a mother and daughter who attended Sunday night’s Atlanta Dream vs. Indiana Fever game claimed they were asked by staff at State Farm Arena to change their clothing or leave the arena.

Reportedly, the family paid $1,000 for the tickets and showed up wearing XX/XY shirts. The back of the daughter’s shirt read, “For the girls.” Staff allegedly stepped in and told them that they would have to either cover the shirt or wear something provided by the arena, or leave.

Reacting to this, Navratilova furiously dropped a one-word comment, saying:

“DiSgraceful.”

The mother-daughter duo revealed in an interview shared by a user on X that State Farm Arena featured a woman wearing a “Protect Trans Rights” shirt on the Jumbotron. However, after putting the spotlight on her, the arena told her to cover up her attire.

The duo then said that they had come to support Sophie Cunningham and her stance on the transgender issue.

Martina Navratilova Supports “Female-Only” Eligibility Criteria for WNBA

Amid the ongoing transgender row, Martina Navratilova, who has strongly opposed transgender athletes competing in women’s sports, now fully supports making the WNBA a women-only league.

A few hours ago, the Czech-American reacted to an online petition calling for the WNBA to enact female-only eligibility criteria. Navratilova encouraged the proposal, saying:

“The WNBA Should Enact “Female-Only” Eligibility Criteria – Sign the Petition! https://c.org/BDcz8qKRCK via @Change.”

Navratilova has stood by Sophie Cunningham ever since the Indiana Fever guard made her pro-woman stance clear on the ongoing issue. The tennis legend has repeatedly defended Cunningham’s stance, and it remains to be seen if the WNBA will have their final say on this matter in the coming days or weeks.
