Bayern Munich supporters were ready to make a statement before kickoff of the team’s 5-1 win VfB Stuttgart with a huge choreography planned for the stands, but those plans were scrapped, leaving considerable anger among Bayern’s fanbase.

The centerpiece of the planned display was supposed to be a massive banner, which would have been unveiled before the match to create a spectacular visual inside the stadium. However, according to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), the banner was deemed too large to receive approval from Munich’s District Administration Office (KVR).

The issue reportedly comes down to safety regulations. If the banner was fully extended, it could have interfered with designated escape routes and potentially created concerns regarding fire safety. Those regulations are designed to ensure supporters can safely leave the stadium in an emergency.

The KVR did reportedly offer supporters the possibility of modifying the banner so that it would comply with the relevant safety requirements. However, that compromise ultimately did not come to fruition.

As a result, the entire choreography was canceled.

That decision has understandably frustrated Bayern Munich supporters, particularly given the amount of preparation that goes into creating these displays. Fan choreographies are often the product of considerable time, effort, and organization, with supporters investing significant resources to create memorable moments before a match even begins.

While safety regulations inside a stadium obviously have to be respected, the cancellation will still be a major disappointment for the fans who had planned to unveil the display tonight. Instead of a massive choreography greeting the team before kickoff, Bayern Munich supporters will have to wait for another opportunity to show their creativity and passion from the stands.
