Michael Porter Jr. comments on Kyrie Irving's health, ACL recovery

Kyrie Irving, a Duke alum and former No. 1 overall pick, is set to return to NBA action this fall after missing the entire 2025-26 season recovering from an ACL tear. Earlier this summer, it was reported that Irving has fully recovered ahead of his 15th NBA season.

This news was corroborated earlier this week by Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr., who recently played with Irving. Not only that, but Porter Jr. reported that Irving appears to be in great shape, saying, "I was hooping with him yesterday, and this is off of his ACL. That dude was so cold, bro. I couldn't believe how he was moving out there. And he was getting to the lane; there's all footers in there, and he somehow was with the left. Bro, it was nutty. It was crazy."

Back in the 2024-25 season, Irving played in 50 games for the Mavericks, making his ninth career All-Star team while averaging 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks.
