AS Monaco head into the second leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier with a slender lead to defend against Górnik Zabrze (3-2). Filipe Luís does not have to contend with any fresh absentees for Thursday night’s encounter at the Stade Louis II.
Nor, however, does the Brazilian manager welcome back any of his big names. As he confirmed in Wednesday’s press conference, Folarin Balogun, Ansu Fati, Matthis Abline, Mohammed Salisu, and Takumi Minamino all remain sidelined. Amid interest from across Europe, it is uncertain whether Balogun will once again pull on a Monaco shirt. Abline is his long-term replacement, however, the Frenchman still cannot put on his boots due to the pain from a wound on the top of his foot.
With a lack of striker options, it may be Aleksandr Golovin who partners Mika Biereth up front for the Principality club. Paris Brunner may have to settle for a place on the bench.
