Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate enjoyed a breakout season during the 2025-26 campaign. Despite starting the year on the bench behind rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner, Diabate's effort, tenacity and hustle soon earned him a spot in the starting lineup. From there, the French big man didn't look back, averaging 7.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and one block in 73 contests. Diabate was also one of the league's most efficient offensive rebounders, averaging 3.7 per game.
For all of these reasons and more, Diabate took home the first major award of his NBA career, being recognized as the league's Hustle Award winner. Throughout the year, Diabate was a prominent lob target as well, finishing around the rim with excessive force.
