The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will return to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) for the 2027 season, marking the series' first event at the venue since 2019. The race weekend is scheduled for Labour Day weekend, Sept. 3–5, 2027, on the track's 3.957-kilometer (2.459-mile), 10-turn Grand Prix circuit.
The Bowmanville, Ontario facility (North East of Toronto) previously hosted the Truck Series annually from 2013 through 2019 and has always produced some spectacular racing and controversial finishes. The inaugural event in 2013 was won by Chase Elliott, with subsequent races won by drivers who later moved up to the NASCAR Cup Series, including Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, John Hunter Nemechek, and Austin Cindric.
The 2027 event will serve as the regular-season finale for the Truck Series, establishing the 10-driver field for the playoff race.
"We are very happy to have the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series back competing at our track," said Myles Brandt, President and General Manager of CTMP. "The series has produced some of the most thrilling racing we've seen here, and we know our fans have been wanting us to bring it back. Our new ownership group headed by Peter Thomson, Chris Pfaff, and Alek Krstajic have all been very supportive in our efforts to get the NASCAR trucks back up here."
Ben Kennedy, Chief Operating Officer of NASCAR, noted the venue's history with the sanctioning body.
"CTMP is a world-class facility that has produced some memorable NASCAR moments on the Grand Prix Circuit over the years, so we're proud to bring the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series back to Canada," Kennedy said. "Bringing the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series back to CTMP gives us a great opportunity to connect with those fans and build on the history we've established at this facility."
