New face heads to Valley, says he will join ABC15 sports broadcast team

A Phoenix sports broadcast team is bringing in extra help right before the football season.

Dom Tibbetts of 7 News WKBW, the ABC affiliate in Buffalo, New York, announced on social media that he is leaving the station to join the ABC affiliate in Phoenix, ABC15.

Tibbetts posted on X: "This will be my last week at WKBW. Four years flew by fast, but I’ll have memories, stories and most importantly friendships that will last a lifetime. For that I am so grateful!"

Tibbetts is likely to begin work on air in the Valley late this month or early September.

Tibbetts' bio on the WKBW site said that he was the weekend sports anchor and a reporter for the station.

He has also worked at KXLF/KBZK in Butte, Montana, and at WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida.

Tibbetts posted that he was excited for the next phase of his career in Phoenix.

"I’m so grateful for the chance to take next step in my career back out west!"
