Notre Dame freshman WR ‘Mosses’ defender during Tuesdays practice

It’s pretty safe to say that Notre Dame freshman wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald is having quite the last few days.

Over the weekend, his father Larry, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, a ceremony that he missed practice for. Fitzgerald returned with a bang, having a highlight reel catch on Monday and then might have topped it with his effort on Tuesday.

Notre Dame football’s official social media account released a few clips of some fantastic connections by some of the young players, first with quarterback Noah Grubbs finding tight end Ian Premer, a freshman-to-freshman score. Next it was Teddy Jarrard finding Dylan Faison, as the veteran makes a play for another freshman. Finally it was Fitzgerald’s turn, as he caught a pass from Jarrard, leaping over Khary Adams.

At this point, it would be hard to keep the young receiver off the field, as he’d made multiple highlight reel catches including a great showing in the Blue and Gold game. I may sound like a broken record, but Fitzgerald has a chance to be one of the best wide receivers that Notre Dame has had in more than a few years.
