Fresh off leading the Minnesota Lynx to another convincing victory, Olivia Miles made her stance clear on the WNBA MVP chatter.

Olivia Miles put up yet another dominant performance in the Minnesota Lynx’s 94-84 victory over the Washington Mystics, dropping a team-high 24 points to go along with seven assists and three steals.

The No. 2 overall pick has put up incredible numbers in her debut year, averaging 20.0 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds across 36 games. And over her last five outings alone, she has posted 20-plus points four times.

Already named a WNBA All-Star and Western Conference Player of the Week, Miles has firmly entrenched herself as an unexpected rookie MVP candidate.

Olivia Miles admits she ‘doesn’t care’ about MVP chatter in WNBA

After the Lynx’s win last night, Olivia Miles was asked how she stays focused while being in the WNBA MVP conversations as a rookie.

She said: “I really just don’t care(laughs)… I love my teammates first and I love winning.”

But there’s no doubting Miles’ quality and she deserves to be in the conversation, having surpassed Caitlin Clark to become the fastest player in WNBA history to record 650 points and 200 assists.

And that’s not all, as she also broke the WNBA single-game rookie record with eight 3-pointers.

However, winning the MVP race won’t be easy, as A’ja Wilson continues to lead the Las Vegas Aces, while Breanna Stewart and Clark are also impressing.

One thing that currently works in Miles’ favour is that she’s currently the leader of the WNBA’s best team, helping take the Lynx to a record of 31-7.
