The Rays go before the City Council on Thursday morning and the County on Friday morning seeking approval of the New Rays Stadium project on Dale Mabry as part of a redevelopment of Hillsborough College.
To quell concerns over the team’s stewardship, the Rays released a detailed list of community commitments, which may come into play in deliberations this week.

Ultimately, the Tampa City Council approved the Rays development deal, 4 to 3, and Elizabeth’s article detailed the many last minute changes to the stadium agreement (which, notably, does not apply to the surrounding development).
Now all eyes turn to today’s Hillsborough County vote, which is expected to green light the vast majority of public funding for the stadium — $796 million worth. You can stream the hearing here:
