Bhatia contributed significantly as well, scoring 35 runs off 28 balls, while her partner, Australia’s Laura Harris, added 38 runs from just 19 balls. Completing the Knight Riders’ overseas contingent is Sainavi Kambalpalli from the USA.
The Barbados Tridents have also made headlines by signing Suzie Bates, one of New Zealand’s cricketing legends, for this season. Additionally, Sri Lanka’s T20I captain Chamari Athapaththu is listed in their squad, though her participation is uncertain as she is currently engaged in the Asia Cup, where Sri Lanka is expected to advance to the semi-finals. The Tridents have also recruited Indian players Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar.
For the Jamaica Empress, the standout name is undoubtedly Meg Lanning, the former Australian captain who retired from international cricket in November 2023 but continues to compete in T20 leagues. She is joined by Amy Hunter, a promising opener from Ireland. The Empress’s bowling lineup is further strengthened by Rosemary Mair and Nonkululeko Mlaba. Mair, a New Zealand fast bowler, has taken 32 wickets in 48 T20Is, while South African spinner Mlaba boasts an impressive tally of 79 wickets in 83 T20Is, along with experience in four Tests and 54 ODIs.
