The New England Patriots have dealt with some injuries early on, though some believe not all of them are as serious as others.
Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez is out with an ankle injury that doesn't seem too serious, but it remains uncertain because he doesn't have a new contract. According to the latest, the injury may be more serious than others initially thought.
One report suggested that Gonzalez was limping after Thursday's joint practice between the Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
"Christian Gonzalez came out to the field at the end of practice to say hi to some Eagles. Looked like he was walking with a little limp," reported Ben Volin of the Boston Globe on X/Twitter.
It's far from ideal if Gonzalez goes through anything for more than just himself. The Patriots are looking to win a Super Bowl this year, and his absence wouldn't help them accomplish that.
For his sake, he also wants to play because he needs to be paid. It doesn't look like this is more than it actually seems, and Gonzalez isn't the type of player to run away from anything and fake an injury.
