During an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show", ESPN's Mike Reiss reported that Boutte is expected to play a leading role in Mike Vrabel's ranks this season. He acknowledged that
“I talked to some people inside the Patriots, and they tell me, ‘Boutte’s gonna be a big part of what we do,’" Reiss said.
Nothing is guaranteed for the fourth-year wideout, who would likely field significant interest from around the league if he were made available. Still, Boutte is arguably the team's best deep threat option and has made himself a favorite of Drake Maye's over the years. He should have a lot to offer New England in 2026 and beyond.
