Patriots veteran guard ranked as top-10 player in NFL

New England Patriots left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker is one of the best players at his position in the NFL.

Bleacher Report ranked Vera-Tucker No. 6 overall in their rankings of the best left guards in the NFL ahead of the 2026 season.

”Vera-Tucker now moves to left guard in New England, his first extended work there since his rookie campaign, making health, positional stability and reacclimation the central variables,” Bleacher Report’s Brandon Thorn wrote. “If his movement profile returns close to the previously established baseline, he still has top-10 guard ability. However, the injury history keeps his current grade in the good-starter tier rather than the high-end range that his talent suggests.”

Vera-Tucker missed all of last season due to a torn triceps. However, he carries a reputation of being a high-quality guard in the league. He will get the chance to show that his pre-injury form is not lost, but rather something that he will be able to build on next season.

The Patriots have taken a hit to their guard depth with Ben Brown out for multiple weeks and Andrew Rupcich landing on season-ending injured reserve. So they will be counting on Vera-Tucker's talent, as well as his availability, to ensure that things don't break down like they did late last season.

A healthy Vera-Tucker combined with Mike Onwenu gives the Patriots a strong offensive guard pairing that should give the team a major boost heading into the 2026 season.
