According to a team release, the Ice Flyers hired Ferazzoli to be one of the key player development coaches after several years of experience. The release said he will work with head coach Jeremy Gates to support the team’s philosophies, structure and player development.

“I want to be a players’ coach,” Ferazzoli said. “Sometimes in coaching, you can forget what it was like to be in their position. I want to invest in our players, build trust and develop relationships that extend beyond hockey. When players know where they stand, what they are doing well and how they can improve, that creates the foundation for success.”

Ferazzoli played collegiate ice hockey at Sacred Heart University and the University of Delaware. After a four-year hiatus, he played for nine different pro hockey teams in the SPHL, the CHL, the ECHL, the FHL, and the MAHL.

Among the teams he played for in the SPHL are the Augusta RiverHawks and the Mississippi Surge. Ferazzoli accounted for 24 goals and 41 assists for the Jersey Rockhoppers during the 2008-2009 EPHL Championship Team.

He spent the last 15 seasons as a player development coach for players who went on to the NHL and for major professional international teams.
