PEORIA — The Peoria Rivermen turned their attention to a pair of rookies for their 2026-27 SPHL roster on Tuesday night.

The Rivermen signed college players Will Redick and Cooper Board.

Redick, a center, and Board, a left wing, both had decorated careers with their NCAA Division III programs. Redick is an elite point producer, while Board is a speedy forward who thrives in key moments.

A national scoring champion

Redick is a 5-foot-10, 181-pound center from Wasaga Beach, Ontario.

The 24-year-old spent the last four seasons with Plymouth State University, where he was a prolific scorer who piled up 72 goals and 85 assists in 97 career games.

His sophomore season included 27 goals in 27 games, plus 31 assists and a +37 rating. He led all of Division III in scoring that season and produced a national-best 2.15 points per game.

Redick's 27-goal season was the second-most in a single season in program history. His 72 career goals were second-most in program history, as were his 85 assists and 157 career points.

He led the program to its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory in 2024 while also earning All-America honors.

A playoff hero

Board is a 5-11, 190-pound left wing from Glen Ellyn.

The 25-year-old spent the last four seasons with Westfield State University, where he scored 39 goals and added 40 assists in 102 games. Board earned 2026 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference first-team all-conference honors.

The team captain, he scored the game-winner in overtime last spring to give the Owls a win over Fitchburg State in the MASCAC playoff semifinals. The speedy forward was the team's 2025-26 Offensive Player of the Year.
