The anticipation for the upcoming NFL season is palpable, especially for the Los Angeles Rams, who have made significant roster changes during the offseason. With high-profile additions such as Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald, the Rams are being touted as serious contenders for the championship. Their summer hype has reached a fever pitch, positioning them as the team to beat in the league.

In a recent discussion on the "Pat McAfee Show," NFL analyst Peter Schrager expressed his astonishment at the level of expectation surrounding the Rams this season. He noted that it is unprecedented for a team to receive such acclaim after having lost two out of three games to a division rival the previous year. "I have never seen a team have the hype and the bandwagon as full, having lost two of three games to an opponent in their division in the history of this sport – from the year before. The Rams’ hype and bandwagon is out of control. It’s spilling over with whoever and whatever," Schrager stated.

Despite the overwhelming focus on the Rams, Schrager urged fans and analysts alike to remember the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champions. He pointed out that while the Rams are basking in the spotlight, the Seahawks are quietly preparing to defend their title. With key players like Jaxon Smith-Njigba (JSN), Devon Witherspoon, and Leonard Williams returning, along with the addition of a promising first-round running back, the Seahawks are poised to make a significant impact this season.

Schrager emphasized the importance of not underestimating Seattle, as they have a strong coaching staff led by Mike Macdonald. He remarked, "So, as everyone is going and everyone assumes I’m just going to be – what’s the term the kids use? Glazing Sean McVay – I don’t love any bandwagon where we’re doing segments on the morning shows, ‘The Rams or the field?’ That doesn’t feel right with the NFL. Let’s not forget about those Seattle Seahawks and their madman of a coach, Mr. Mike Macdonald."

The rivalry between the Rams and Seahawks is set to reignite in Week 16, with their first matchup scheduled for Christmas night in Seattle. This game promises to be a thrilling encounter, especially with potential playoff implications on the line. The two teams will meet again just two weeks later at SoFi Stadium, making the stakes even higher for both squads.

As the season unfolds, the competition in the NFC West is expected to be fierce, with both the Rams and Seahawks vying for a spot in the Super Bowl. The outcomes of their late-season clashes could very well determine their playoff fates, adding an extra layer of excitement to this storied rivalry.
