PFL Africa sets Casablanca debut with six semifinal fights

The Professional Fighters League will hold its PFL Africa semifinals Oct. 10 at Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, featuring tournament bouts in three divisions and a heavyweight main event.

PFL Africa 3: 2026 Playoffs, the promotion’s first event in North Africa, will determine finalists in the bantamweight, welterweight and lightweight tournaments. Winners of the six semifinal bouts will advance to the PFL Africa Finals later this year.

Fighters from nine African nations will compete at the Mohammed V Sports Complex
Senegal’s Abdoulaye Kane (5-2) will face Morocco’s Badr Medkouri (9-3) in the heavyweight main event. Kane has earned each of his five professional victories by stoppage, including four knockouts and one submission. Medkouri has recorded eight knockouts in nine victories.

Unbeaten Algerian-Canadian Karim Henniene (7-0) will meet Nigeria’s Raphael Uchegbu (11-2) in the bantamweight semifinal co-main event. Henniene submitted his opponent in the first round at PFL Africa: Nigeria in June, while Uchegbu earned a unanimous decision on the same card.

Liberia’s Dwight Joseph (16-3) will face Angola’s Boule Godogo (5-2) in the other bantamweight semifinal.

In the welterweight semifinals, Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (12-2) will meet South Africa’s Peace Nguphane (9-3), while Guinea-Bissau’s Rivaldo Pereira (4-2) faces unbeaten Nigerian David Samuel (6-0).

The lightweight bracket features an all-Nigerian matchup between Patrick Ocheme (9-1) and Cornel Thompson (12-3). Senegal’s Demba Seck (11-3) will face Chad’s Hussain Al Kurdi (3-0) in the other semifinal.

Fighters from nine African nations are represented on the card as PFL continues expanding its Africa series.

“We’re looking to go to all four corners of the continent,” PFL Africa general manager Elias Schulze said.
