Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie wide receiver Germie Bernard has admitted playing with Aaron Rodgers actually makes him incredibly nervous.
The 2026 season marks the end for Rodgers in the NFL as his 22 season in the league will be his final after announcing his retirement.
Rodgers has won four MVP awards during his spell in the league and established himself as a future Hall of Famer.
Although Rodgers has not made a Super Bowl appearance in over a decade, the 42-year-old still has extremely high standards set for himself and his teammates.
Bernard is one of the young receivers that Rodgers will have at his disposal this season after being selected with the 47 overall pick in the 2026 Draft.
Having had the offseason to work with Rodgers, Bernard has admitted the presence of an all-time great still makes him nervous.

Clearly, the 42-year-old is not sitting back this year despite it being his last season in the league.
However, Bernard has admitted that Rodgers’ stature does still make him nervous as he does not want to disappoint the veteran.
“I’m not going to lie, I be having low-key a little bit of anxiety when I’m out there with him, just because I don’t really want to mess up and he finna chew my a– out,” said Bernard.
“At the same time, it’s like I enjoy being there with him and being under him because he’s just teaching me the game. He’s giving me all the knowledge he knows about the game.”
Rodgers will naturally have very high standards for both himself and the players around him.
Ultimately, Rodgers’ success this season will be as a result of players like Bernard being able to get themselves free down the field for him to throw to.
Bernard proved to be a solid option at Alabama last season, but translating that success into the NFL will be a big task.
Having a leader like Rodgers to help guide Bernard through his opening months as an NFL player could prove hugely important.
After losing in the Wild Card Round to the Houston Texans last season, Rodgers will be looking to go out on a high, but he will need the help of those around him to do so.
