The Portland Timbers have officially announced the acquisition of defender Joel Waterman from the Chicago Fire, marking a significant move in the MLS transfer market. This amount includes a guaranteed $100,000 and an additional $100,000 that is conditional based on future performance.

Over his career, he has accumulated 157 league appearances, contributing six goals and 12 assists, showcasing his ability not just as a defender but also as a player capable of supporting offensive plays.
On the international stage, Waterman has represented Canada 17 times and has been part of the national squad for both the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups.
