The English Premier League season will start in the next few days, with the 2026/27 campaign set to get underway. Arsenal will begin their title defence after winning the league last season, but they will face plenty of competition as they look to retain the trophy.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United will all be among the teams hoping to challenge Arsenal for the title, while several other clubs will be looking to surprise the top teams.
With plenty of changes across the league, including several new managers, another unpredictable campaign could be in store.
With the new season just around the corner, the focus will also turn to the individual awards, with several players expected to compete for the Golden Boot and Golden Glove.
Here are our predictions for who will win the Premier League title, Golden Boot and Golden Glove.
Premier League 2026/27 Title PredictionArsenal enter the new campaign with plenty of confidence after finally ending their long wait for the Premier League title.
Arteta’s side collected 85 points last season, finishing seven points ahead of Manchester City, while their 26 wins and +44 goal difference were both the best in the division.
That success was built on a strong squad, and Arsenal have continued to strengthen in the transfer market.
Their additions have given Arteta more options across the pitch, which could prove important during another demanding Premier League campaign.
Manchester City are likely to provide the biggest challenge, although they will begin a new era with Enzo Maresca in charge. Liverpool and Manchester United will also be looking to close the gap, while Chelsea could emerge as another serious contender.
Prediction: Arsenal
Despite the quality of the teams chasing them, Arsenal are our pick to retain the Premier League title. Their consistency, squad depth and experience of winning the league should give them an advantage as they look to defend their crown.
Premier League 2026/27 Golden Boot PredictionThe Golden Boot race could be just as exciting as the title race, but Erling Haaland starts the season as the favourite to finish as the Premier League’s top scorer. The Manchester City striker won the award for the third time last season after scoring 27 goals, five more than Brentford’s Igor Thiago.
Haaland has now won three of the last four Golden Boots, having also claimed the award in 2022/23 and 2023/24. His record in front of goal makes him the player to beat again, although several other forwards will be hoping to challenge him.
Alexander Isak will be one of the main players looking to catch Haaland, while Thiago will be hoping to build on his impressive 22-goal season. Viktor Gyokeres, Joao Pedro and Ollie Watkins could also be in the race if they continue to score regularly.
Prediction: Erling Haaland
Haaland is our pick to win the Golden Boot again. He has shown that he can score a lot of goals in the Premier League, and his 27 goals last season came despite scoring fewer goals in the second half of the campaign.
With Manchester City expected to compete for the title, Haaland should have plenty of chances to score.
The Golden Glove could be another interesting battle this season, with several goalkeepers having a strong chance of winning the award. Arsenal’s David Raya starts as the favourite after winning it in each of the last three seasons.
Raya kept 19 clean sheets in 2025/26, helping Arsenal concede just 27 goals as they won the Premier League title. His performances were a big part of the Gunners’ strong defensive record, and another solid season from Arsenal’s defence could give him a good chance of winning the award again.
However, Raya will face competition from goalkeepers such as Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Everton’s Jordan Pickford. Pickford kept 11 clean sheets last season and made 100 saves, while Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs also impressed with 10 clean sheets and 109 saves.
Prediction: David Raya
Raya is our pick to win the Golden Glove again. Arsenal’s strong defence gives him a major advantage, while his ability to make important saves has helped him win the award three seasons in a row.
If the Gunners remain as solid at the back as they were last season, Raya should have plenty of chances to keep clean sheets. Donnarumma and Pickford could push him close, but Raya remains our strongest choice to claim a fourth straight Golden Glove.
