PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) -- Richwoods used three interceptions in the first quarter to beat Peoria High, 48-30, in the season opener for both teams at Peoria Stadium.
Austin Leverett returned an interception 98 yards for a TD to give Richwoods a 12-0 lead. He intercepted a pass from Eli O'Donnell, who transferred from Richwoods to Peoria High.
Other winners on opening included Normal Community, Normal West, Metamora, Dunlap, East Peoria, Canton, El Paso-Gridley, Eureka, Tri-Valley, Heyworth, Central Catholic, Farmington, Stark County and Olympia.
