Ravens waive former sixth-round CB Robert Longerbeam

The Baltimore Ravens have waived cornerback Robert Longerbeam as they begin reducing their roster to 53 players, according to Adam Schefter.

Longerbeam was selected with the No. 212 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft. His rookie season ended before it started after he suffered a knee injury during training camp and was placed on injured reserve.

The former Rutgers standout returned healthy this offseason and generated some momentum during organized team activities. His speed and ball skills made him an intriguing developmental player in one of Baltimore’s deepest position groups. Longerbeam ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine after recording 42 passes defensed during his college career.

He finished the 2026 preseason with eight solo tackles and one pass breakup but faced a difficult path to the roster. Nate Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey and Chidobe Awuzie entered camp as Baltimore’s top cornerbacks, while T.J. Tampa and Bilhal Kone offered additional depth and special-teams value.

Longerbeam’s departure provides additional clarity as the Ravens make their final roster decisions. It also demonstrates how quickly circumstances can change for a late-round selection who lost an important developmental season to injury.

Longerbeam will be subject to waivers and can be claimed by another team. If he clears, Baltimore could consider bringing him back on the practice squad, where he could continue developing while providing organizational depth at cornerback.
