Rennes interested in Martin Terrier loan

Stade Rennais remain interested in Bayer Leverkusen forward Martin Terrier (29), as per a report from Foot Mercato. The Frenchman left the Breton club two years ago to move to the Bundesliga, however, injuries have prevented him from flourishing in Germany.

In two seasons at Bayer Leverkusen, Terrier has been limited to just 44 appearances. In that time, he has netted seven goals. He has been less successful there than he was at Roazhon Park. With Rennes, Terrier scored 51 goals and registered 24 assists in 141 games in all competitions. A return to Brittany could now be on the cards.

Rennes have strengthened in attack with the signing of Eliezer Mayenda, whilst the club have also so far succeeded in retaining Esteban Lepaul. However, Breel Embolo has left, joining Atlanta United in the MLS on a permanent deal. Adding a forward is, therefore, on Rennes’ to-do list and they could add Terrier on a loan deal.
