Richard Hughes may be leaving Liverpool at the end of the summer transfer window but, that doesn't mean that he can't continue trying to improve their ranks before he leaves.
Many different rumours have emerged about who Liverpool could target and who they could sign that would actually improve their team and, while three deals have got over the line, a lot more work still needs to be done.
The Reds have many problem areas among their first-team squad and, without these being rectified, it's hard to see how they'll do any better this term than they did last season.
Obviously, Liverpool don't have an endless money pit like some clubs and, with the amount of changes that they need to make, they may have to end up prioritising certain positions over others.
However, now that Hughes has been given the green light to sign one of the Reds' long-term targets, their plans may have to change.
AS Monaco want to sign Romeo Lavia which could allow Liverpool to sign Lamine CamaraOne of Liverpool's main problem areas at the moment is their midfield.
Although they have many options among their ranks, after the performances that some players put in last term, it's clear that change is needed.
Of course, both James McConnell and Trey Nyoni look likely to stay at Liverpool and fight for a place in Iraola's plans this season but, with how badly Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister performed, it's unclear whether they'll be able to cover for them or even take over.
This has led to fans demanding that at least a new number six is brought in which is why this latest update from Ekrem Konur will be music to their ears.
"AS Monaco have submitted proposals to sign Chelsea's 22yo midfielde," he shared via X.
"A $29M direct fee or a loan with a $40M buy clause are on the table.
"Chelsea are open to evaluating offers."

Lamine Camara would be an exceptional piece of business for LiverpoolAt the moment, Liverpool obviously have most of their attention turned towards signing some new attackers.
Hughes has only just signed Luis Diaz's replacement in Victor Munoz but, now that Mohamed Salah has exited, there's an even bigger gap for them to fill.
So, even though a new midfielder is definitely needed, new attackers are going to come first.
However, of the midfielders that have actually been linked with the Reds, Camara is arguably the best of the lot.
Others such as Adam Wharton, Caleb Yirenki and Ayyoub Bouaddi have all also been linked but, with two of them having already agreed deals with a new club and one club now wanting to sell, it feels like Liverpool are running out of options.
Change is obviously needed but, for the moment, it seems like fans are going to have to wait and see what business can be done.
But, if the opportunity for the Reds to sign Camara emerges, it's one that Hughes should definitely take.
