George Russell backed up the pole position he secured yesterday by winning the Dutch Grand Prix Sprint, finishing ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. Below is a full recap of the race.

The polesitter made a clean start to retain the lead of the Dutch GP Sprint into the opening corners, with Lando Norris holding second ahead of Charles Leclerc in third.

Behind the leading trio, Kimi Antonelli made immediate progress, getting past Oscar Piastri to move into fourth place. The Mercedes driver quickly closed onto the back of Leclerc and began putting the Monegasque under pressure in the battle for the final podium position.

Piastri dropped to fifth following Antonelli's move, while Max Verstappen held sixth ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The field made it through the opening lap without any incidents, with Russell remaining in control at the front.

The race produced little action in the opening stages, with Antonelli gradually increasing the pressure on Leclerc, while Hamilton was similarly beginning to close in on Verstappen.

Behind Russell, who gradually began to pull away at the front, Norris, Leclerc and Antonelli ran closely together in a three-car train for several laps. Leclerc eventually managed to ease the pressure from Antonelli slightly and instead began putting the reigning world champion ahead under pressure.

On lap 18, Leclerc finally managed to get the better of Norris, diving down the inside at Turn 1 and leaving the McLaren driver with no answer. Kimi Antonelli attempted to follow Norris through shortly afterwards, but was unable to complete the move, allowing the Brit to hold on to the final podium position.

Russell went on to win the race, while Piastri finished fifth, Verstappen sixth and Hamilton seventh, with all three well off the pace of the leading group.
