The main pass catcher for the Scarlet Knights and one of the top receivers in the Big Ten has received another preseason accolade.
On Wednesday, KJ Duff was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list. This marks the second straight year that Duff has made the list for this award, given annually to the top wide receiver in college football.
This adds another recognition for Duff, who has already been named to the Walter Camp Player of Year watch list, in addition to preseason All-America selections from the Associated Press, On3, Sporting News, Walter Camp, Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.
Duff enjoyed a breakout campaign in Piscataway last year. He totaled 1,084 receiving yards, becoming the seventh Scarlet Knight in program history to reach 1,000 in a season and first since 2014.
In a victory against Purdue, Duff finished with 241 yards, which was the second-most by a Rutgers player in program history and was the fourth-most in a game nationally. He led the country with 22 contested catches as well.
Duff was voted Second Team All-Big Ten for his work last season along with being named an All-American by Phil Steele.
Rutgers returns major weapons in Duff and running back Antwan Raymond this year to help the new quarterback. Boston College transfer Dylan Lonergan remains in a battle with AJ Surace for the starting spot. Rutgers will need to implement new weapons next to Duff with the loss of Ian Strong to Cal.
Rutgers opens the season on Thursday, Sept. 3 at SHI Stadium vs. UMass.
