New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson left Thursday's joint practice session with the Jacksonville Jaguars early after suffering an apparent leg injury. Initial reports indicate that Tyson departed with a trainer and may be dealing with a hamstring injury, per Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football, though the hope is that the injury is minor. Head coach Kellen Moore could not provide many details afterward but said the team expects to know more on Friday.
“Yeah, I just know something with his leg,” Moore told reporters after practice. “Him — and (Terrell) Burgess was the other guy that left — something with their lower body, but I wasn’t over there for that one either. So we’ll see. We’ll get more information. We’ll probably have a better idea tomorrow.”
NOF's Nick Underhill offered an optimistic follow-up, reporting that he was told Tyson's injury "isn't super serious." Still, losing any practice time as a rookie this close to the season is less than ideal.
Tyson, pick No. 8 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, is expected to play an immediate role alongside Chris Olave in New Orleans' passing attack. He had been enjoying a strong practice before his day ended prematurely. The Saints will now hope Thursday's early exit is precautionary and that their prized first-round pick can return to the field quickly.
