Oh, Premier League football. I missed you. Honest, I did. …Okay, I didn’t miss Arsenal being good and winning so much, which is what they did yesterday in a 3-0 win over Coventry City, but I did miss it. And now we get a full day of football, even an early match! Tottenham Hotspur don’t play until the late game, which gives us a chance to get straight into the action. A full day of football on the opening match week. What could be better? Well, I guess it would be better if England ever got its head out of its ass and stopped blacking out 3 p.m. matches. Never change, England. (Actually, it’s stupid. Change.)

The highlight match today might actually be Ipswich vs. Sunderland — not because either are expected to be good, but because it might tell us which might be decent and which is likely to get relegated. We’ll have a separate thread for the Spurs match.

This is your open thread. Cowabunga, dudes!
