The South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) is set for an exciting Week 2 of high school football as teams look to build on their early successes from the season's opening week. With Week 1 now in the books, the conference concluded with a record of 11 wins and 12 losses, showcasing a mix of competitive matchups and standout performances.

Among the highlights of Week 1 was Northeastern's long-awaited victory, marking their first win since 2022 and snapping a 38-game losing streak. The Bobcats emerged victorious in a thrilling contest against East Pennsboro, clinching a narrow 35-34 win. This victory not only boosts their confidence but also sets the stage for a challenging matchup against James Buchanan, who also secured a win in their opening game.

As the teams prepare for Week 2, five SCAC teams will kick off their games on Thursday night, while the remaining squads will play on the traditional Friday night slot. This week promises to deliver some intriguing matchups, including ELCO visiting Dover. Despite a loss to Conestoga Valley in their opener, Dover's quarterback Iyon Valenti had an impressive outing, throwing for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, ELCO comes into this game after a strong performance, defeating Boiling Springs 35-6 in their first game of the season.

Another key matchup features James Buchanan traveling to face Northeastern. The Bobcats are looking to capitalize on their recent success, buoyed by their offensive highlights from last week. Quarterback Logan Evans connected with Connor Bissinger for a crucial touchdown late in the game, while running back Hunter Egli showcased his skills with four rushing touchdowns. On the other hand, James Buchanan will aim to continue their momentum after a decisive win against Claysburg-Kimmel.

Additionally, the clash between Littlestown and Susquehannock is set to be a thrilling encounter. Both teams enter the game with a 1-0 record, and their history adds an extra layer of intrigue. Susquehannock has dominated this rivalry in recent years, winning all but one of their matchups since 2018. However, Littlestown is eager to change that narrative after defeating Kennard-Dale 31-14 last week.

The SCAC football schedule for Week 2 features several other matchups that will keep fans engaged. Notable games include New Oxford at Bermudian Springs, Solanco at Dallastown, and Hanover at Kennard-Dale. Each of these contests will be crucial as teams strive to establish their identities early in the season.

As the SCAC teams gear up for another week of competition, the excitement is palpable. With several teams looking to continue their winning streaks and others aiming for redemption, Week 2 promises to be filled with thrilling football action.
