Scottie Scheffler’s performance at the FedEx St. Jude Championship this week was an utterly dominant one.
Scheffler put a real stranglehold on the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Friday after shooting a scintillating 61, and he never relinquished control from that moment onward.
The 30-year-old world number one is now a 21-time PGA Tour winner after his victory at TPC Southwind on Sunday.

Scheffler may have been given extra motivation to win after seeing three supremely talented young starlets succeed on the PGA Tour over the past three weeks.
Now he has 21 PGA Tour wins to his name and his performance this week in Memphis was a gentle reminder that he is still the best golfer in the world by a very long way.
Scottie Scheffler’s first words after he wins the FedEx St. JudeScheffler spoke to Amanda Balionis immediately after winning at TPC Southwind on Sunday.
He was asked how it feels to finally secure his second victory of the season.
“I have had some close calls this year. I feel like I kept saying at the end of each tournament that I feel like I am playing pretty good, it’s just little things that aren’t going my way,“ he said.
“Today was a day which was always challenging playing with one of my best friends, both trying to win, he has had his fair share of close calls this year as well.
“So going into today I wanted to try and do my best and execute. Third hole I hit a good bunker shot, hits a sprinkler and goes in the water and I’m like when is this going to stop happening but I did a good job of staying in it and bouncing back from that and I was able to relax coming down the stretch.

Outside of Amex I didn’t feel like I played as well as in recent years, I felt like I was battling my swing a bit but just staying consistent. That’s what I am most proud of. Having the ability to fight and claw my way through things.
“Ted always does such a good job of keeping me in it on the course and then I have such a good team off it as well.
“It’s nice to pay off this week, stats are one thing but being able to win golf tournaments is another, and this is a lot better thing than having a statistically good week.“
Scottie Scheffler’s stats at the FedEx St. Jude ChampionshipScheffler’s putting was the standout part of his game this week at TPC Southwind.
The world number one was ranked first in strokes gained putting, having gained 9.102 shots on the field this week.
He actually lost strokes around the green, and was ranked well down in 56th.
However, he ranked 13th in strokes gained off the tee and second in strokes gained approach.
Scottie Scheffler seems to be back to his very best after his superb win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
And if he plays anything like he did today during the next two events, it’s hard to see anyone else getting the better of him.
