When Myles Garrett was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, he was entering an established, championship-caliber culture that was on the doorstep of a second title in 2025. Garrett didn't look to make waves, making his intentions clear that he wants to be a good teammate and a primary reason the team wins the Super Bowl this season.
In his brief time with the team, Garrett has made a positive impression on many. One of those is head coach Sean McVay. During McVay's presser Tuesday, he detailed what he's learned about Garrett as a person, beyond being a great player.
“He's got a lot of range, a lot of different interests," said McVay. "He's a great human being, comes from a great family. It was awesome to be able to meet his parents. You can see why he is the caliber of young man that he is. This is a guy that loves football, has a great feel for the game, very nuanced in terms of when you talk about the lens that he sees the game through, but he's also got a lot of other interests. It's cool just listening to him talk about things outside of football that give him the range and it's really impressive and I've enjoyed getting to know him.”
Outside of football, Garrett is an avid photographer, having taken photos of his girlfriend, U.S. Olympian Chloe Kim, during her events.
McVay would say in the presser that he continues to establish trust and rapport with Garrett, especially as he deals with a knee issue.
"He’s tough as hell and he wants to be out there, we just want to make sure – it is gaining experience," McVay said. "I think the foundation of all good relationships and really trust is built over time.”
It's unknown if Garrett will participate in the team's joint practice against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday.
