Serie A Preview: Juventus vs Parma – Team News, Lineups & Prediction

Juventus and Parma are set to trade tackles at the Allianz Stadium in the second round of the 2026/27 Serie A season. Saturday’s encounter in Turin will provide the home team with an opportunity to reach an unprecedented feat in the club’s history.

Gleison Bremer’s thumping header fired Luciano Spalletti’s side to a narrow 1-0 victory at newly promoted Frosinone last weekend. However, Juventus put three points on the board only narrowly, as the newcomers hit the crossbar in the dying seconds of the match. Indeed, they almost punished the Bianconeri for squandering a number of clear-cut chances.

Juventus

After squeezing past Frosinone on day one, Juventus can now win their opening two Serie A games without conceding for a third season in a row. Interestingly, Spalletti’s side could achieve that impressive feat under a third different manager, having previously done so under Massimiliano Allegri and Thiago Motta.

There’s hardly a better place to pursue that record than the Allianz Stadium, where Juventus suffered just two league defeats in the entire 2025/26 season (W10, D7). However, Juventus’ home campaign last term finished in a dire fashion, with the Bianconeri picking up just two wins from their final eight Serie A outings in Turin (D3, L2).

It’s worth noting that Juventus’ last five home league matches featured precisely two goals, highlighting the potential for another tight contest. Adding to this sentiment, five of their last six games yielded a full-time margin of a single goal at most, a trend they’ll be keen to buck this weekend.

Parma

Although unwillingly, Parma may afford Juventus another victory here. Only two teams have beaten the Crusaders more often in Serie A than the Bianconeri (28). Furthermore, three of Parma’s recent opening-day away defeats have come at the hands of Juventus, with Cuesta’s side conceding eight times while scoring just once in return.

Following a dismal Serie A beginning against Cagliari, the visitors are at risk of starting a new league season with back-to-back losses for the first time since 2020/21. Unfortunately for the traveling fans, that’s a distinct possibility, not least because Parma have won their Serie A away opener just once in their last 21 top-flight seasons (D8, L12).

Speaking of Parma’s dreadful season openings, they failed to get on the scoresheet in their first four away games last term. On the bright side, their road form gradually improved over the course of the campaign. Cuesta’s team went on to register four clean sheets on their last eight Serie A trips, suggesting this may not be a walk in the park for Juventus after all.

It was a Pyrrhic victory for Juventus at Stadio Benito Stirpe last weekend as they lost standout winger Kenan Yildiz to a potentially long-term injury. Jeremie Boga, who signed a permanent contract in Turin at the start of the summer, could replace the Turkish forward on Saturday. In addition to Yildiz, Spalletti cannot call upon Jeff Ekhator and Federico Gatti, who are still on the treatment table.
